Safe Gate

Lancashire Probation Trust and Burnley police are working together to reduce crime.

As part of the Safe Gate initiative, police will be identifying unsecure houses on Reedyford Road, Rutland Street, Rutland Road and Newport Street. Offenders on Community Payback, a sentence where offenders have to complete up to 300 hours ofunpaid work for community benefit, will fit new gates to needy buildings. This will reduce crime and prevent fly tipping while enabling the offenders to give something back to the community.
